Peace:
What does God’s word say about how we are to treat each other?
1 Peter 2:21-24 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us, an example. That you should follow His steps. 22 Who committed no sin, nor was any deceit in His mouth. 23 Who when was reviled did not revile in return; when He suffered He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; 24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness by whose stripes we are healed.
1 Peter 3:11-12 Let him turn away from evil and do good: let him seek peace and pursue it. 12 for the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.
Psalm 34:14 Depart from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
Jeremiah 17:10 “I the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give each man according to his ways, according to the results of his deeds.”
Psalm 44:21 Would not God find this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart.
Matthew 5:43-48 43 You have heard that it was said you shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. 44 but I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you. 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven: for He makes the sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust. 46 for if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 and if you greet brothers only what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? 48 therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
1 Peter 3:8 No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 for the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: Love your neighbor as yourself.
Gallatin 5:14 do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather in humility value others above yourselves.
Philippians 2:3 So in every thing, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the law of the prophets.
Romans 15:2 So keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing so some people have shown hospitality to angels unawares.
Romans 14:13 Therefore as we have opportunity, let us do good to “ALL” people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
Lord Jesus You left us Your example and Your word as a guiding light. As we walk through this world I ask you to keep Your hand upon us. That Your light will shine like a city on a hill through us. Lord that my behavior will reflect You to all people. Lord we need more of You and less of our fleshly desires. In Jesus name help us to place You at the center of our lives, to love as you loved and to care for all those we meet. Lord I thank You for Your patience with me as I learn to be more like You.
In Jesus name amen
