Pro-Life?

What do we think of when we hear this term? What should we think of when we hear this term? Is there no life after birth? Are we to stop caring after a child is born? Is there not hypocrisy in demanding a child be born yet not providing for that child once it is born? Do we vote to cut programs that help those who can’t afford to feed, clothe, educate, and provide sound medical care? We want change but what change do we really want?

James 1:27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and keep oneself unspotted from the world.

When God gave Moses His statutes God made provision for the poor, the orphans, and the stranger. He also told them that those who consider them are blessed.

Psalm 41:1-3 Blessed is he who considers the poor; The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble, the Lord will preserve him and keep him alive, and he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The Lord will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed.

Growing up there was a girl my age near by. This girls mom watched over me and fed me most days during the summer. She was NOT paid as my sitter. I played with her daughter. She fed me and treated me treated me just as her daughter. Though none had a lot then, she still treated me as her daughter.

How can we help those around us? How can we truly be pro-life?

Can we truly love our neighbor as our self? Can we love our enemies? Can we love the stranger?

Do others see Christ in us?

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
