Where there is no counsel the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.
2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
2 Chronicles 18:7 The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “there is still one man by whom we may inquire of the Lord; but I hate him, because he never prophesies good concerning me but always evil. He is Micah the son of Imal. And Jehoshaphat said let not the king say such things.
Romans 12:4-9 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or in ministry, let us use it in ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.
1 Corinthians 12:28 And God has appointed these in the church; first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healing, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.
Do you know those who just seem to be really good at something?
God has given them that gift for the good of those they serve whether it be a doctor, a lawyer, a cook, a teacher, an organizer, an artist, and the list goes on. He has given those things for us to help each other. If you are sick do you go to a doctor or a lawyer? If you have a broken water pipe do you call a doctor or a plumber? If you want a house built do you call a doctor or a builder?
Every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father of Lights in whom there is no turning or variances nor shifting of shadows. He placed the desires in our hearts for those things to love and serve Him and others. Do not despise the correction of the Lord for He only corrects those He loves. Any who lack wisdom ask of God who gives freely and without reproach.
