Why do we not remember things from our history? Do we learn from our history? Do we pass on and pay the consequences over and over again? Our doctors label some of these things “fatigue.” The most recent “Covid Fatigue.” Covid has not gone away and is still taking many lives every day and leaving others miserable with the effects left behind. Post Traumatic syndrome disorder or “PTSD” as it is called affects many people. Some it affects in small ways and some in very traumatic ways. Each of us has had traumatic experiences in our lives. Should we not remember what has been before so as not to repeat it? Can we remember?
Ecclesiastes 1:9-11 That which has been is what will be, that which is done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun. Is there anything of which may be said, “See this is new”? It has already been in ancient times before us. There is no remembrance of former things, nor will there be any remembrance of things to come by those who will come after.
We still have racism, wars, greed for money and power, famine, disease, and more. Yet, we still have God’s word and only if we heed God’s teaching we could change so much.
Deuteronomy 6:7-9 You shall diligently teach them to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the door posts of your house and on your gates.
Deuteronomy 5:29 Oh, that they had such a heart in them that they would fear Me and always keep all My commandments, that it might be well with them and with their children forever.
God gave us a plan. Will we walk in it?
