Repentance?

God tells us to repent. To repent we admit our wrongs because we have to recognize what the wrong is before we can repent because repentance is turning from our wrong and not continuing to do it. Then Jesus tells us to forgive our brother not only 7 times but 7 times 70. We as humans can have a really hard time with this. God held me to this one. I have had to admit a lot of wrongs and ask a lot of forgiveness. Then one night God did something for me I am not sure what He tweaked in me but He made this much easier for me. Since then I have found it much easier to say I messed up, I got it wrong, and how can I fix it? It also feels better emotionally because I don’t try to cover it once I know I have made a mistake. There is peace in the truth.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Ephesians 4:25 Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another.

Matthew 18:22 Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times but up to seventy times seven.

Proverbs 20:19 He who goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets; Therefore do not associate with one who flatters with his lips.

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
