God gave us His Sabbath rest. God gave not only us His Sabbath rest but He also commanded a Sabbath rest for His earth. Since God commanded us to let the earth rest He had a very good reason. Man’s greed for more and for power has brought man sickness.
Leviticus 25:1-5 And the Lord spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai, saying, Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you come into the land which I give you, then the land shall keep a Sabbath to the Lord. Six years you shall sow your field, and six years you shall prune your vineyard, and gather its fruit; but the seventh year there shall be a Sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a Sabbath to the Lord. You shall neither sow your field nor prune your vineyard. What grows of its own accord of your harvest you shall not reap, nor gather the grapes of your untended vine, for it is a year of rest for the land.
We know crop rotation was used to help our soil. With out our soil we have no plants; so no food. We hear a lot of people have cancer. It is proven all the pesticides/ poisons cause cancer. God gave us a great plan because God knows all things. Yet man still ignores God’s plan.
2 Chronicles 36:21 To fulfill the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her Sabbaths. As long as she lay desolate she kept Sabbath, to fulfill seventy years.
The fertilizer used is to put into the soil what we have depleted. Yet fertilizer is a chemical. It can’t solve our soil problem forever either. Pesticides used because our soil is unhealthy gets into our food, soil, water and air and leads to diseases and cancers. Man slowly killing man in the name of progress. Is it really progress?
