Scape Goat?

There are many things today that have been derived from Scripture. Do we often look for a place to lay blame for things, some where or on some one?

Leviticus 16:21-23 Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, confess over it all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their sins, putting them on the head of the goat, and shall send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a suitable man. The goat shall bear on itself all their iniquities to an uninhabited land; and he shall release the goat in the wilderness.

Do we place blame on others or circumstances for things we have done? I dare say I have.

Ezekiel 18:20 The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.

1 John 1:8-9 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

What a goat could not do, Jesus did for us all, the whole world.

1 John 2:2 And He himself is the propitiation for our sins and not ours only but also the whole world.

John 3:17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through Him might be saved.

What then shall we say?

John 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that, He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

Philippians 1:9-11 And this I pray, That your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

Lord, Abba, please let it be, for all things are possible for You. In Jesus name amen.

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
