Seasons

Solomon told us in Ecclesiastes that everything has a season, a time. We have seen a time of death and destruction by a virus that is still claiming many lives and leaving much destruction for others. We have had those spreading hate and division so that there is more death and destruction. So a time of hate has spread through our country and the earth. In hate and racism more death and destruction by man’s hand who is neither judge nor ruler. Those taking lives in the heat of hate and anger are ruined as well as those who they vent their wrath on. In this season God still calls us, still sends out His warning, still sends out His word. God’s plan and God’s word has never changed and will remain the same forever. God’s word tells us to repent, and turn from our evil; for He is gracious to forgive us and relents from doing harm. Hate takes a heavy toll on our lives. God wants to give us good. His word says not to let the sun go down on our anger. We can let hate grow and fester and make us miserable and lead us to sins destruction or we can turn the season and turn to God. God is love; His word says so.

1 John 4:7-12 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is Love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, THAT WE MIGHT LIVE THROUGH HIM. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us we also ought to love one another. No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.

God sent His prophets not only to Israel but to those pagan nations around Israel to warn them of coming destruction. We see throughout God’s word that the world and all its fulness belongs to Him. Jonah hated Nineveh; it was a wicked city. Yet, God sent Jonah and Nineveh repented and turned to God and God relented from destroying Nineveh. All things, people, indeed the world belongs to God. Will we acknowledge this and walk just as Jesus did towards all people? Jesus went to those who could not come to Him and He healed all who came to Him. There is not one Jesus will turn away who comes to Him. Will we be a light for others that they may see Jesus in us?

Romans 13:10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
