Matthew 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, ‘first gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.’
The believers and the unbelievers now live in God’s world together.
Matthew 5:44-45 But I say to you, love your enemies, Bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.
When God’s blessings are rained down on the believers they are also rained down on the unbelievers. Those around the believers are blessed as well. They are all going to get wet. As believers do we reject God’s gifts because they don’t come in the package we think they should? Maybe because they came by way of earthly help? Maybe because it didn’t come in a flash of light or by thunder and great fan fair? Jesus wasn’t a showman but came as a humble servant; first to His Father and then to all who came to Him. Jesus is not limited by our thoughts and ideas. His healing can come in any form He chooses for one and for the whole world. He came for the whole world. In healing one He may heal all those around the one.
1 Peter 2:12-17 Having your conduct honorable among the gentiles, that when they speak against you as evil doers, they may, by your good works, which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation. Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake. Whether to the king as supreme, or to the governors, as to those who are sent by Him for punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do good. For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God. Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.
Lord, I thank You for Your word. Thank You for Your blessings that come to all of us for the benefit of all. Every good and perfect gift comes down from You. Give us a desire to know Your will, Your way by Your word, for it is a perfect gift. In Jesus name amen.
