Words matter. What are our children hearing and learning in their homes? What do they hear us discussing? How do we speak to them? Do we speak of compassion, kindness, tolerance of others opinions, caring, and loving others as Jesus does, that we are all God’s creation? As we see things unfolding in our world will we examine ourselves? Will we change for our children and those around us? God changes the world by changing me, one me at a time.
Matthew 12:35-37 A good man out of the treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil. But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgement. For by your words you will be justified and by your words you will be condemned.
Matthew 15:18-19 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornication, theft, false witness, blasphemies.
Deuteronomy 6:5-7 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength, and these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
John 14:15 If you love Me keep My commandments.
What words are we using? Will we do our best to take responsibility for our words and actions? Will we love first? Lord God help us!
