Test?

Do we test our motives? Do we test our choices? Do we test our words? Do we test our actions? The devil likes to get us speaking and acting before we have time to think, to test what is being said or is taking place. In this sin is not lacking. Can we stop, and say a prayer, ask for truth and guidance?

Proverbs 16:2 All the ways of man are pure in his own eyes but the Lord weighs the spirits (motives).

Does our motives line up with God’s word? Do we think we need to defend God? Do we make God that small? Are we only defending ourselves? Anger begets anger.

James 1:19-20 So then, my beloved, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

Philippians 2:3-4 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interest, but also the interests of others.

1 Peter 2:17 Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.

Romans 12:2 and do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Do we muddy the waters and show ourselves as hypocrites? Are we perfect and without sin?

Proverbs 25:26 A righteous man who falters before the wicked is like a murky spring and a polluted well.

Proverbs 16:18-19 Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
