The Day Of The Lord?

How many of us have said, I can’t wait for Jesus return?” How many of us long for the day of Jesus return? What does scripture say about this day?

Amos 5:18-20 For to you who desire the day of the Lord! For what good is the day of the Lord to you? It will be darkness, and not light. It will be as though a man fled from a lion, and a bear met him. Or as though he went into a house, leaned on the wall, and a serpent bit him! Is not the day of the Lord darkness and not light? Is it not very dark, with no brightness in it?

Joel 2:1-2 Blow the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in My holy mountain. Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; For the day of the Lord is at hand: A day of darkness and gloominess, A day of clouds and thick darkness, like the morning clouds spread over the mountains. A people come, great and strong, the like of whom has never been seen; nor will there ever be any such after them, Even many successive generations.

Matthew 25:31-32 When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats.

Matthew 25:44-45 Then they also will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison?’ Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

BUT JESUS!

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Not only 7 times 7 but times 70.

Jesus, said even to the thief on the cross when he cried out to Him with a sincere plea, “Today you will be with Me in paradise.” And Jesus, said, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.” Jesus, paid the price for all our sins. Will we accept Him as Lord and Savior and let Him transform our lives?

Psalm 145:18-19 The Lord is near to all who call on Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He will hear their cry and save them.

Luke 18:13 And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God be merciful to me a sinner!’

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
