Have you ever spoken to someone who only wants to argue? Maybe someone who brings up a question and then you realize they didn’t want your answer but to tell you their opinion? Do we trust God to do all His word says He will do?
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Me.”
God’s timing is perfect.
Matthew 7:6 “Do not give what is Holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before the swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.”
God the Father draws a person to Jesus. God knows exactly the pearl that needs to be given, the seed that needs to be planted that will begin to take root.
Luke 12:11-12 “Now when they bring you to the synagogues and magistrates and authorities, do not worry about what you should answer, or what you should say. For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.”
I am in awe of God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit. Recently God brought scripture and words to me I did not know would be used for one who wanted to argue a point with me. God had given the scripture days before but just before encountering this person again He brought it into my focus with words. This person brought up the subject within the next few minutes and when I spoke as God had given me the argument never began. God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit knows all things and always has the perfect answer. Are we listening? Lord, give us ears to hear what the Spirit says always.
Matthew 22:18-21 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, “Why do you test Me you hypocrites?” Show Me the tax money.” So they brought Him a denarius. and He said to them, “Whose image and inscription is this?” They said to Him, “Caesar’s.” And He said to them, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s , and to God the things that are God’s.”
Do you remember the next question? I love Jesus’s answer.
Matthew 22:28-34 “Therefore in the resurrection, whose wife will she be? For they all had her.” Jesus answered and said to them, “Your are mistaken, not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like the angels of God in heaven. But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?’ God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.'”
We are not to argue with those who are not ready to hear. Paul was kept from going to Asia.
Acts 16:6 Now when they had gone through Phygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia.
2 Timothy 2:14 Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers.
God says “Be Ready.”
1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;
People cross our path every day that the Lord may use us for His glory. Be ready with love, kindness, gentleness, self control, patience, and most of all prayer that we may plant, water, encourage, and give hope.
Faith, hope, and love but the greatest of these is love. For God so loved the world.
