It is a matter of the heart? A matter of the mind? Many of us wear a mask that covers our thoughts, yet God does not look at the mask we wear for the world but the thoughts and intents of our soul/ heart. Do we check our thoughts, our intentions for the things we say and do? God does!
1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as a man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance but the Lord looks at the heart.”
John 2:24-25 But Jesus did not commit himself to them because He knew all men, and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man.
Do we go about speaking and thinking things and that the intents of our hearts and minds is not known to anyone?
Luke 12:2-3 For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known. Therefore whatever you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.
God spoke all things into existence. Do words matter?
Matthew 12:35-37 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak they will give account of it in the day of judgement. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy meditate on these things.
Lord, create in me a pure heart. In Jesus name amen
