Psalm 127:1-2 Unless the Lord builds the house they labor in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late to eat the bread of sorrows, for so He gives his beloved sleep.
Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep clothing but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles?
In other words actions speak louder than words. Watch those that talk a lot but produce nothing good. Watch those that say little but produce many good works.
Proverbs 6:23-24 for the commandment is a lamp and the law a light reproofs for instruction are the way of life to keep you from the evil woman / man, from the flattering tongue of the seductress.
Proverbs 29:5-6 A man who flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his feet. By transgression an evil man is snared but the righteous sings and rejoices.
Flattering someone is often not sincere or it is to get what they want from that person. An honest compliment is done to encourage. There is only one true power in this world or universe, God our Father, His Son Jesus Christ our Savior and the Holy Spirit. Things are here and gone in the blink of an eye but the word of God has always been and always will be. We can try to protect, to provide, to lead, to learn, to grow but only God gives and takes away.
Lord in Jesus name give us a hunger and a thirst for You, Your word. By Your word we seek Your kingdom first in You we live and move and have our being. Jesus is the way the truth and the life. Help us to draw closer to You and know that You draw closer to us.
By God’s word we may know a false prophet or a flatterer. God is not a god who can lie and does not go against His word.
Blessed be the Lord our God who daily loads us with benefits.
Proverbs 28:23 He who rebukes a man will find more favor afterward than he who flatters with the tongue.
Proverbs 28:25-26 He who is proud of heart stirs up strife, but he who trusts in the Lord will be prospered. He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but whoever walks wisely will be delivered.
James 1:19-21 So then my beloved brethren let every man be swift to hear slow to speak, slow to anger for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is ABLE TO SAVE YOUR SOULS.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY AMEN
