Matthew 5:21-22, You have heard that it was said to those of old you shall not murder and whoever murders shall be in danger of the judgement, but I say to you whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgement, and whoever says to his brother Raca shall be in danger of the council but whoever says you fool shall be in danger of hell fire.

There was also a saying the pen is mightier than the sword. God Takes our words seriously. This shouldn’t come as a surprise to us. God spoke all things into being.

Matthew 12:36-37, But I say to you that every idle word men may speak they will give account of it in the day of judgement.; for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned.
James 3:2 For we all stumble in many things. If any one does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man able also to bridle the whole body.
James 3:5-9, Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles. And the tongue is a fire a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and it sets on fire the course of nature, and it is set on fire by hell. For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed by mankind but no man can tame his tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men who have been made in the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not be so.
In this time where social media things can be shared and shared over and over. Should we not be even more careful with our words. Jesus explained who our neighbor is and God hates lying. We have to think about all those words we put out not only in voice but in print. Think would God approve of this? Would we want this posted about us? Again remember who Jesus says your neighbor is.
Thank You Jesus for You have covered our sins and put them as far as the east is from the west. Lord let Your Holy Spirit come alive in clarity in Your people that our tongues, pens, and shares reflect You and Your love. Lord let us so shine Your light for all to see that You come alive for all to see You in us. Let us walk in all Your ways! In Jesus name Amen
Psalm 141:3-5, Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips. Do not incline my heart to any evil thing to practice wicked works with men who work iniquity; and do not let me eat of their delicacies. Let the righteous strike me it shall be a kindness, and let him rebuke me: It shall be as excellent oil. Let my head not refuse it.
