Solomon spoke of times and seasons in Ecclesiastes 3 and that every thing has its time and season. Solomon ended Ecclesiastes with the perfect advice.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man’s all. For God will bring every work into judgement, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.
What is our foundation like? Do we know God’s word well so we will recognize the truth, the way, and the life? Will we be able to stand on Jesus word and teachings?
Matthew 7:24-29 Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But every one who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall. And so it was, when Jesus had ended the sayings, that the people were astonished at his teachings, For HE TAUGHT THEM AS ONE HAVING AUTHORITY , and not as the scribes.
It has seemed to me in these writings that God has me pointing to knowing His word. We are seeing much of what Jesus spoke warned of in Matthew 24. We need a firm foundation so our focus is not pulled away like the waves of the sea! Can we stand on Jesus teachings in the face of popular opinion? Will we follow Jesus way even if our friends and family hate us for it? Will we stand in love and not hate?
Matthew 24:10-13 And many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. BUT he who endures to the end shall be saved.
Is our love growing cold?
John 3:17 For God did not send His son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
Where is our focus? Saving, loving, or condemning?
2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of LOVE and of sound mind.
What fruit are we bearing? Love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control? As disciples we are called to spread the GOSPEL the GOOD news of Jesus. What news are we spreading?
Lord, our God, our King Jesus, Holy Spirit I am thankful You remember we are but dust, flesh. Please in Jesus name strengthen and lead Your people in Your will and way.
