Translation?

Translation means: The process of translating words or text from one language into another. God’s word has been translated into many languages. This is a good thing, a prophetic word, for the Word of God was to be taken to all the world. Some were given the gift of speaking in tongues / languages for this purpose. Still today there are those who speaking many languages comes easily. God’s gifts are still given today! William Tyndale was credited with being the first to translate the Bible into English from Greek and Hebrew text around 1494-1536. The first English language was credited to John Wycliffe dating from 1382. Jesus told His disciples to go into all the world and preach the gospel, the good news, without this gift would this have been possible? God’s word is so simple a child can understand. It can be veiled to us though by the devil and popular opinion. Knowing God’s word for ourselves is so important! If you struggle with God’s word as I did and do I pray God lifts the veil and opens His word to you and you come to respect and fall in love with God the Father, Jesus His Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Interpretation means: The act of explaining the meaning of something.

This is where it is very important we know God’s word for ourselves. God’s word needs no interpretation.

1 Peter 1:20-21 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

Throughout history people have twisted God’s word for their own agendas. Even satan twisted God’s word when he tempted Jesus. I am not a great speller or know the meaning of every word in the English language but we have great tools today! I have enjoyed looking up the history of things like Jewish weddings, earthquakes of old, countries and places talked about in Scripture, the nature of sheep and the way the shepherd cares for their needs. These things help us who don’t understand some of what Jesus is talking about because He was speaking to His people who did know their traditions and way of life. Again, we have the tools! Archeologist are gifted in discovering the history of the planet we live on. By them and their research we know about dinosaurs! We also can learn about ancient times of God’s people. I looked at maps of Israel recently and found many of the names of places and the history are the same today as in scripture. We have a great gift in God’s Word. One I found interesting was the history of Tyre. Will we ask, seek and knock?

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
