How do we tell the truth from lies today? How do we tell God’s truth in those who say they are christians? This is hard today with so many fake emails, fake phone calls and scams. Yet for God’s truth we can be sure of one thing; Jesus said we would know them by their fruit.
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, gentleness, self-control. Against these there is no law.
James 1:26-27 If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless. Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and keep oneself unspotted from the world.
James 3:16-18 For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
If these things are absent can God be for it?
