When God Calls

Through out scripture God has called men to do His service in this world. Have you noticed that God works before He calls us? He shows us who He is, His power, His love, His compassion, His Healing, and always His provision to accomplish that He sends us to do.

Genesis 6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

Genesis 6:13-14 and God said to Noah, the end of all flesh has come before Me for all the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them from the earth. Make yourself an ark, make rooms in the ark and cover it inside and out with pitch.

God continued to explain exactly how Noah was to build this ark. Do you think Noah could have imagined dreaming up these plans on his own? Then the Lord made sure Noah had all that he needed to build it and wait… wow

Genesis 7:7-9 So Noah, with his sons and his sons wives went into the ark because of the waters of the flood. Of clean animals, of animals that are unclean, of birds and every thing that creeps on the earth two by two they went into the ark to Noah, male and female as God had commanded Noah.

If Noah and his family had doubts seeing all these animals willingly walking two by two into the ark male and female; I think doubt left the ark and then God Himself shut the door.

Genesis 12:1-3 Now the Lord said to Abram, ” Get out of your country from your family and from your fathers house. To a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation. I will bless you and make your name great and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you and I will curse him that curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

Abram became Abraham his history still blesses us with an example of his trust in God.

Exodus 3:2-6 and the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the mist of a bush. So he looked and behold the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed. Then Moses said I will turn aside and see this great sight why the bush does not burn. So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the mist of the bush and said, “Moses! And Moses said, “Here I am.” Then He said do not draw near this place. Take off your sandals from your feet for the place where you stand is hold ground. Moreover He said, “I am the God of Abraham, the God of Jacob”. Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.

Exodus 4:1 Then Moses answered and said, “But suppose they will not believe me or listen to my voice; suppose they say the Lord has not appeared to you” So the Lord said to him “what is that in your hand?” Moses said, “A rod”. God said, “Cast it on the ground.” So he cast it on the ground and it became a serpent and Moses fled from it. Then the Lord said to Moses,”Reach out and your hand and take it by the tail and he reached out his hand and caught it and it became a rod in his hand. That they may believe that the Lord God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob has appeared to you.

Many more signs and wonders God did not only for the Egyptians to get them to let His people go; but to increase the faith in the Israelites.

Joshua 5:13-15 And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho that he lifted his eyes and looked and behold a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. Joshua went to Him and said to Him ” Are You for us or for our adversaries”? So He said, “No, but as Commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped and said to Him. “what does my Lord say to His servant.” The Commander of the Lord’s army said to Joshua, “Take your sandals off your feet for the place you sand is holy” and Joshua did so.

1 Samuel 3:10 Now the Lord came and stood and called as at other times “Samuel, Samuel” and Samuel answered, ” Speak for your servant Hears.”

Isaiah 9:6-7 For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end upon the throne of David and over his kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgement and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of Hosts will preform this.

Isaiah 42:1 Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights. I have put My Spirit upon Him. He will bring forth justice to the gentiles He will not cry out, nor raise his voice to be heard in the street. A bruised reed He will not break and a smoking flax he will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth. He will not fail nor be discouraged, until He has established justice in the earth and the coastlands shall wait for His law. Thus says God the Lord who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread forth the earth and that which comes from it, who gives breath to the people one it and Spirit to those who walk on it. I the Lord, have called You in righteousness, and will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people as a Light to the gentiles.

John 3:16 for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

Lord God I thank You that You sent Your perfect Son Jesus Christ because You loved us even in our sin. Thank you Jesus You loved the Father more than any thing else and obeyed Him always and became our perfect example, our Shepard, our Savior and King forever. You lead by example, You love like a Shepard, Savior, and King forever. Your compassion on us is beyond comprehension. Blessed is the Lord our God forever and ever. Amen

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
