Isaiah 5:1-2 Now let me sing to my Well-Beloved a song of my Beloved regarding His vineyard: My Well-Beloved has a vineyard on a very fruitful hill. He dug it up and cleared out its stone, and planted it with the choicest vine. He built a tower in its midst, and also made a wine press in it; So He expected it to bring forth good grapes, but it brought forth wild grapes.
Jesus taught what His Father taught and prophesied through His prophets.
Matthew 13:24-30 Another parable He put forth to them saying: ” The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while he slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop then the tares also appeared. So the servants for the owner came and said to him; ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ He said to them an enemy has done this. The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ But he said, no, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.”
God has given us good seed. His Son Jesus, and the Word, and His Holy Spirit. If we search for Him, His wisdom, His kingdom we will find it. If we look out at all the things going on in the world and join in their folly not holding to the truth of God we become as salt that has lost it saltiness. How then can we bear fruit for His kingdom?
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
The devil, our enemy, many times sneaks in unaware. In what we watch, where we go, and what we read. We act before we stop to pray and think. When we are watching, reading, surfing the internet ect… and suddenly we are pushed to anger, hate, lust, desire. That is the devils roar. We may not even know if it’s true, we may not need it, or any number of emotions may arise. But the devil wants you reacting before you can pray, ask for wisdom, or seek truth. We can be sure if these things happen the devil is afoot because none of his folly brings the righteousness of God. Wisdom prepares us, folly pushes us. The Lord says seek wisdom because it is life and health to your bones.
Lord, We thank You for Your wisdom. For Your Word. You alone are all wise. In Jesus name, lead us to seek You first in all things. Amen
