When we think of wolves we think of predators. The Bible tells us of a different kind of predator. This one comes as light but underneath is evil. We have often seen this kind of predator when their evil is found out. There are those we say, “I would have never thought that about them; they couldn’t do those things they are accused of.” Yet, we are warned by Jesus that they will be know by their fruits not their great, flattering, charismatic, words and lies. Even seeing the things they are doing sometimes we believe the means justifies the end. We in this time have to know God’s word for ourselves! We have to pray, we have to be on guard, we have to be slow to trust yet quick to watch and listen. I was and still feel gullible at times. Jesus was tempted by the devil with turning stone to bread because He was hungry; a simple task for Him and yet He knew He was God’s Son and did not need to prove Himself in pride. The devil used God’s word in tempting Jesus to prove Himself yet pride goes before a fall. If we saw a wolf, a thief, a scammer, a flatterer coming we would run the other way. We are told the devil comes as an angel of light though and he knows and understands God’s word. Pray without ceasing, study the word for if possible the devil will trick us by any means possible with his lies for he is the father of lies; most often sweet little lies that end in destruction.
Acts 17:11 These were more fair minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and SEARCHED the SCRIPTURE daily to find out wether these things were so.
2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God a workmen that does not need to be ashamed rightly dividing the word truth.
We see these in Berea accepted Paul’s words yet were diligent to SEARCH out the truth for themselves not just blindly believe what they said. Just because something sounds good doesn’t mean it is and if we close our eyes and ears to what is going on and refuse to see or hear anything we don’t want to believe then the blind are leading the blind.
2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
When we consent to evil it makes its home with us. BUT God is merciful and forgives when we turn in truth to Him and remove ourselves from the sin.
Proverbs 1:10 My son, if sinners entice you do not consent.
Proverbs 1:19 So are the ways of everyone who is greedy for gain; It takes away the life of its owners.
In this time we have to look to the character and words of Jesus our Savior the Son of God. What would Jesus do?
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control. Against such there is no law.
Galatians 6:10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to ALL, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
Vengeance is Mine, says the Lord. We do not know another’s mind or heart. We are to forgive so our Heavenly Father forgives us. Those who realize how much they have been forgiven, forgive more easily.
Matthew 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
You will know them by their fruits. We will see those fruits for what they are?
