Many of us know God’s commandments and right from wrong. How often does the right thing come to mind only to be followed by another thought such as, it doesn’t apply to this situation, the end justifies the means, it is to protect their feelings, they deserve it for what they did and so many more that the devil has in his bag. The devil attacks our minds with these weeds to get us to stray from what we know is right and good in God’s eyes. How often do we use God’s word as a weapon only picking what we want? Do we blame God for all our mistakes when only if we truly listen and believed there would be fewer? Take every thought captive to the honor and glory of God. The devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy. God brings love and life.
Proverbs 6:16-19 These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren.
Ephesians 4:30-32 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let ALL bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving, on another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
Romans 13:10 Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore, love is the fulfillment of the Law.
Are we listening? Will we ask God to clean us from the inside out? Will we take those thoughts that don’t line up with God’s way and examine and stop them? We I don’t can’t do it on our own. These thoughts come a poke us when we least expect them. Pray without ceasing.
