The Scripture gives much insight and teaching about how to live and to live a good life. The Scripture I believe, had to be inspired by our Heavenly Father and through His Son Jesus because they are the only ones who know all things about us, Our Creator. How can we tell if someone is giving us good advice? Does the advice line up with God’s Word? Proverbs tells to flee from anyone who would lead us into evil. We really need to know God’s word to be able to discern good advice. We need to be praying and checking in with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit convicts of sin and of righteousness. The Holy Spirit will lead us by God’s Word but we have to be quick to listen. Who are we listening to? Our own hearts? God tells us our hearts are deceptive above all else? Will we listen to good advice from the One who knows all things? Do we make excuses for those whose fruit is obviously bad? Are we listening to our own desires? Are we following the herd? Do we let what we think we want or like get in the way of truth?
Proverbs 1:10 My son, if sinners entice you, DO NOT CONSENT.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.
Proverbs 28:6-7 For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly.
Luke 14:28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it.
Luke 14:31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, doe not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand.
Will we count the cost of our words, deeds, and actions? Will we choose more wisely? Will we do as Nehemiah did?
Nehemiah 2:4 Then the king said to me, “What do you request?” SO I PRAYED TO THE GOD OF HEAVEN.
ARE WE LISTENING? WILL WE LISTEN? ARE WE BEARING GOOD FRUIT?
