Temptation?

Scripture tells us we have all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. No, not one of us is perfect in keeping God’s commandments. BUT JESUS! Jesus was tempted by the devil at His fleshes weakest point yet Jesus did not falter. Jesus believed His Father in heaven that He was His beloved Son and did not need to prove it to anyone. God called Abraham and Abraham was called a friend of God because Abraham believed God but he was not perfect. Whom do we believe? Whom do we follow? Scripture tells us not to put our trust in man nor princes for they fail, they die, they are God’s creation. Man cannot keep promises for we know not the day nor hour God will call us.

Matthew 3:17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “THIS IS MY BELOVED SON, IN WHOM I AM WELL PLEASED.”

Jesus recognized His Heavenly Fathers voice and believed Him. The Heavenly Father still allowed Jesus to be tempted for us. The word “IF” lends to question whether Jesus really believed His Father in heaven that Jesus was His beloved Son. Then devil tries to twist what Jesus knew was written and the Heavenly Father had said. Then for fame and fortune through greed the devil tries to offer Jesus what was already His through the Father because God the Father is the Creator of all.

Matthew 4:3-11 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “IF You are the SON of God, command that these stones become bread.” But He answered and said, “IT IS WRITTEN, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'” Then the devil took Him up into the Holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “IF You are the SON of God, throw Yourself down, for it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over You and in their hands they shall bear You up, lest You dash Your foot against a stone.'” Jesus said to him, “IT IS WRITTEN AGAIN, “You shall not tempt the Lord your God.” Again the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you satan! “IT IS WRITTEN, “You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve.” Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.

All things were created by Father God. All creation belongs to God. We all answer to God, yes, even satan.

John 14:15 If you love Me keep My commandments.

John 6:28-29 Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God? Jesus answered them and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”

Do we believe in Jesus God’s only begotten Son?

1 John 2:6 He who abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

Not by might nor by power says the Lord, but by My Spirit.

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
