Have you questioned God about why He lets those prosper who are wicked, greedy, liars, and the like? Questioned why God allows them to harm others? Why bad things happen to those we feel are good people? I have, and I have asked, “How long Lord will You let it continue?” If you have, know it was asked by Job and Jeremiah before us. Jeremiah was plain in his asking.
Jeremiah 12:1-2 Righteous are You O Lord, when I plead with you; Yet let me talk with You about your JUDGEMENTS. Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why are those happy who deal treacherously? You have planted them, yes, they bear fruit. You are near in their mouth BUT far from their mind.
Romans 9:21 Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor.
Ezekiel 9:3-6 Now the glory of the God of Israel had gone up from the cherub, where it had been, to the threshold of the temple and He called to the man clothed in linen who had the writers inkhorn at his side; and the Lord said to him, “Go through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who SIGH and CRY over all the abominations that are done within it.” To the others He said in my hearing, “Go after him through the city and kill; do not let your eye spare nor have pity. Utterly destroy old and young men, maidens and little children and women but do not go near anyone on whom is the mark; and BEGIN at My sanctuary.” So they began with the elders who were before the temple.
We are all one step from the ditch.
1 Corinthians 10:12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.
Numbers 14:18 The Lord is long-suffering and abundant in mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, but He by no means clears the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations.
Each generation has to choose to follow their ancestors sin or become a change for good.
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack in keeping His promises as some count slackness, but is long-suffering towards us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
1 Peter 3:10-12 For he who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.
