Forgotten?

How many of us remember World War 1, World War 2, Vietnam war, the holocaust, the fear, the millions of sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, and more who died in these? There was much destruction yet for what? One or a few persons greed, hate, anger, fear, vanity, maybe like king pharaoh the fear of another race outnumbering them, maybe using one race as a scape goat to blame all their problems on. Yet, still these things did not fix the problems but created more problems. Sadly we do not remember these things or how or why they came about and history repeats itself time and again. If we read God’s word we see that time and again the people made the same mistakes and suffered the same consequences. Many can visit the ruins of ancient times past and we have written history but we are often not taught about the past or it is glossed over; just as scripture tells us. Will we ask, seek, knock?

Ecclesiastes 1:9-11 That which has been is what will be, that which is done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun. Is there anything of which it may be said, “See this is new?” It has already been in ancient times before us. There is no remembrance of former things, nor will there be any remembrance of things that are to come by those who will come after.

Ecclesiastes 1:15 That which is has already been, and what is to be has already been; and God requires an account of what is past.

Ecclesiastes 6:5 It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise than for a man to hear the song of fools.

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all. For God will bring every work into judgement, including every secret thing whether good or evil.

God gave Solomon great wisdom. When one became king he was to write for himself a copy of the Book of the Law, God’s laws that He gave His servant Moses for the people and he was to keep it and read it frequently. What if we read God’s word frequently? What if we applied it to our lives? Love does no harm to a neighbor therefore love is the fulfillment of the LAW.

I am God's work in progress. God's word says "be holy as I am holy." The only way to accomplish this is to turn our lives over to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have found that this is a learning process but begins with a real desire to know Him. My prayer is Lord keep me on your paths of righteousness bringing glory and honor to your name.
