Watching?

Are we watching? If we are watching what are we watching for? Jesus told us to watch for know not the day or hour of His return for us. Jesus knows all our days. As Psalm 139 tells us there is no where we can go from Him and all our days are written in His book.

Psalm 139:16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me when as yet there were none of them.

Matthew 25:13 Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

We may all have a little different view of heaven but if we are to obey God’s commandments we can understand the laws of heaven. Are we really looking for God’s heaven? Are we helping our neighbors, our enemies, the poor, the widows, the orphans, the foreigners, all of these we as people who say we are Christ followers are commanded to help in their time of need? There is no partiality with God. He is the reader of our hearts not our color, nationality, or anything else we want to put a label on. Are we watching or closing our eyes?

2 Timothy 3:1-7 But know this, that in the last days perilous time will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanders, without self control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than God, having a form of godliness but denying its power, and from such people turn away.

The day of the Lord is a day of darkness and not light.

Amos 5:18 Woe to you who desire the day of the Lord! For what good is it to you? It will be darkness and not light.

We look for heaven but reject those things on earth that we look for in heaven. Who is our neighbor?
